How would it run though? Main North Road isn't exactly free of much space. If anything, it would have to run underground.

As someone who has bought an apartment in Mawson Lakes, and plans to live there when it is complete, I can tell you there's nothing I would hate more than to see "nightlife" venues start opening there.

These sort of late night clubs etc just encourage crime particularly graffiti, and generally rowdy, loud behaviour.

I certainly wouldn't want these things near my home.

Personally I see no attraction in paying outrageous prices to buy a drink in an extremely noisy, overcrowded and dark place where you can't even have a conversation because it's so loud, at times when I'd much rather be in bed! However for those who actually like these sort of things, I think Adelaide CBD is the best place for it, and preferably well away from where anyone lives.

I would imagine most people who have purchased a home in Mawson Lakes would agree with me, in that they chose Mawson Lakes largely because it is a quiet, peaceful and safe place. I just hope it stays that way!

Well for your sake push button I hope it stays like an isolated suburbia town.

Besides, there already is graffiti in mawson lakes, if u catch the gawler line u can see about a 300m stretch of fencing completely covered in graffiti.

Also being surrounded by salisbury, gepps cross, para hills, and parafield suburbs, there will be much more graffiti and loud/rowdy behaviour to come.

I wouldn't want to live there if thats what it is going to be like. I could just buy a house in angle vale and have the same lifestyle, and have a 1000 times bigger backyard for the same price.

The northern suburbs need a mini nightlife hub, similar to Westfield Marion in the southern suburbs.

Mawson Lakes would probably be the perfect place for it.

I'm sorry for the rather low quality image, but this interesting looking 5/6 level building is being proposed for Mawson lakes.

Most of the apartment development going up in Mawson Central will have commercial tennancies available and therefore more cafe's & restaurants will come. Its correct to say that the population levels aren't quite high enough to sustain an explosion of new businesses, so i think you will see these filter in over time. There will also be more retail & cafe tennancy oportunities once Satge 2 of the Promenade goes ahead.

I like the idea of a 1st class carriage on the train. LOL The only problem is that the ML residents wouldn't use the service because they would hate to leave their BMW's & Hybrid cars at home

I was talking to someone from Delfin today about stage 2 of the promenade shopping centre. Apparently it will be quite different from stage 1, and although plans haven't yet been finalised, it might include a small enclosed mall, and multi-storey carpark. Construction is likely to commence mid-late 2008, according to the Delfin person I spoke to.

Prospect to Grandjunction road very feasable. Lot of work needed but not impossible, tram once went down Prospect road. After Gepps x there's a nice mediam stripp on main north that can be nicely utilised all the way to Mawson's.

last saturday i had to go out to Elizabeth city centre, and i must admit the shopping centre is quite good now. Id rather go there anyday than Marion, and Eliz was very busy.
On the way back I drive through Mawson lakes and noticed its mini skyline developing. Construction is well underway with a 5-storey aptment block, with another 4-5 (three-four storey) developments also happening. Its going to be a busy little hub once everything is completed. nice to see

Elizabeth shopping centre has got to be one of the best in Adelaide.
