It's interesting to note that on the Aurora website when you go to Urban Constructs other projects the renders are still the same for the 3 bus station towers and have change to the new grey renders for the 2 balfours site towers so possibly they will be different and the bus station towers are to be the same colourful ones....

Old bust station is were 3 towers will be once it has been demolished and the balfours site will have two towers and yes they are basically diagonally opposite.

For the bus station site, will the development extend all the way to Morphett St (demolishing those lowrise buildings)?

I don't know for sure but I wouldn't think so as they are privately owned unless they were bought awhile back by the governement or whoever owns or will own the towers.

Part of the Balfours site is being turned into a sales/display centre.

does anyone know when construction of the towers begin? And where exactly are they being constructed, are they demolishing the adjoining buildings (ie dreamland etc) ??

omada is talking about Dreamland at 72-80 Grote Street. Sleepy Hollow is on the corner of Grote and Morphett Street. Good question.

I wish they would demoilish the whole block, besides the hampshire hotel (on the corner of grote and bowen street) ... and maybe even the old backpacker hostel building if its worth keeping. and then incorperate new showrooms where they currently are. and ontop have a hub of new back packer accomodation.

Everything is still going ahead.

Once the new terminal is in operation and there is no need for the old one. Work in that area should start pretty much immidiately i would suspect.

As to why the balfours site has been untouched so far, im not too sure. (Something may be happening behind the walls... but not that I am aware of).

Stage 1 of Balfours is out for tender for construction.
