There was talk of it being simpler (dumbed down)...

No, that is the old render. The new render is simpler.

The eastern tower no longer sits on a podium, and the podium is far simpler.

That last render V impressive. Like Waymouth, Franklin St is starting to see a few high rise blocks - excellent.
Back to back with the old exchange bldg eh!

That render is decieving because it shows the building unrelevant to its surroundings. Throw in CC8 and the Telstra Exchange and it won't be as imposing, but nonetheless a welcome change to the rather bland streetscape of Franklin Street.

Now all we need is some serious action to start on site.

Looks like this one can be put in the on hold category. Drove past today, and this is now officially a carpark. Just what Franklin street needs :wank: Dont think we will see anything on this site for a while. I been checking out propertylook.com from time to time, and its pretty obvious they are unable to fing a tenant, cause its been advertised on there for probably over a year.
Hopefully this is just temporary, however given the current situation it would not surprise me if that hole sat there for a few years at least. hope im wrong though.

Yeap a nice open car park, $8 a day for parking
Nice to already see vandalism along the Franklin Street boundary fence too :wank: Franklin street has great potential with all the proposed and approved development but until that development actually occurs this street really is the ar*se end of the CBD, especially considering its location in the core CBD area. No wonder they have trouble attracting large office commitments to the area. The ACC really needs to upgrade the road, footpaths and lighting one of these days in a co-ordinated fashion.

Good to see they have finally lodged an application considering they have been using this as an $8 a day car park for the last couple of weeks. Obviously someone from Council realised what was going on. Definately on hold at least.
