Good news for the project. The article states that they are now looking to appoint a builder which makes it unlikely to have a Mar/Apr start??
I have also heard that they have sacked the agency that was looking after the sales which only ever happens when they are well off targets/expectations.
Ben, have you had any updates on sales?

I have contacted the sales agent several times and can not get a hold of them and they do not reply to my emails. We were meant to get monthly updates from December about the project and I have received nothing. Seems like another case of broken promises which appears to be very typical with apartment developments. Very disappointing.

Yeah right, because a compliant 22 storey building wouldn't have this same problem/requirement. This remains a story from bizarro-land...
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

They are advertising heavily on radio and TV. I wouldn't be too concerned.
Walking on over....

I have heard they are really struggling to sell.

Dr Mr and Mrs state government, get rid of stamp duty on off the plan CBD apartments. Does it really take a rocket doctor to do everything possible to encourage intra/interstate & oversea's investors, in these tough economic times.

There is no stamp duty on off the plan apartments and hasn't been for years....

What do you mean?? Stamp duty concessions are capped at $15,500 off the normal duties and regardless of the purchase price (even if it means stamps would be under $15,500) there is still some stamp duty to pay. The current scheme was introduced in mid-2014 and expires in June (yet to be extended)

So you think tax payers should subsidize people's $800k+ penthouses? I personally think the structure and cut off limit they have now is fair. It's to help people in lower to Middle income brackets.

Ben - I wasn't arguing the point about the fairness or otherwise of the stamp duty concessions for off-the-plan purchases, rather questioning your comment about there being no stamp duty at all for off the plan purchases.
Personally, I think there could be more done to incentivise the purchase of urban infill projects. Perhaps June 30 this year when the current scheme ends will present an opportunity for the govt to do something about this.
