I thought there already was one? It used to go to a sports store up there.

I can remember it - it went to a mezzanine from memory. Not sure if these are new, or just being refurbished as part of the entrance changes?

They have been there for years. Used to go up to Rowe & Jarman.

A quick heads-up: there's likely to be an announcement/submission for a new tallie on Flinders Street sometime soon, most likely in the next few weeks. Haven’t seen any renders but according to my source it apparently looks ‘quite nice’ – it’s also quite substantial in size and will be visible from Vic Square so I certainly hope so. That’s about all I can divulge…

tease.

ah well if the first design is 'quite nice' and quite tall then chances are that by the time it gets around to construction it will have it's height cut in half, will be made to look ordinary and will include a 10 story carpark :?

No it's not mate, but that's as much as I'll say - suffice to say it's a development that hasn't been mentioned on this site previously to my knowledge and I'm told information on it should be in the public domain very soon. I know this is a bit of a tease but thought I'd share what I can
Cheers

My guess it's the site on the corner of Flinders & Pulteney. The old Telstra exchange site that changed hands back at the end of December last year.

Let's just hope the development isn't ONLY for a 10 storey carpark!

I recall a development for Franklin street that was to be built "behind" the Waymouth street Telstra exchange. The site is almost opposite the "now closed" Truscott shop on the north side of Franklin.

Anyway there is some excavation starting there - a couple of excavators + hopefully they are not just leveling the land for a car park!

Anyone remember what it was proposal to build here? Or if something is underway?

Picture from today.

Got a work email today that our credit union (Aust Central/Savings & loans) has decided that the combined head office will be at Flinders Street and is currently seeking a developer to build a new 5 star energy building at the existing Savings & loans site. So there u go
