Easter's in April. Id like to think at least the main carriageway would be open then.
How long before traffic was the T2T open day?
The Superway Open Day was well before it even looked close, if I remember.

Community open day currently scheduled for Sunday 8 February. Likely to take another couple of weeks after that before opening to traffic.
Yep, apart from the southern interchange, bugger all has been happening on the Bolivar and northern interchanges. Some of the variable speed signs at the northern interchange have been sitting on the side of the road since before Christmas waiting to be put up. Gantries are going up with no signs on them, and the old traffic lights are still in place at Bolivar intersection. Waterloo corner has been completed months ago but we still have to slow to 60kmh thru there. And the superway offramp is still not complete where it meets Salisbury highway, requiring at least 1 more closure to complete. My tip is the advertiser will be posting a sob story that it's Easter weekend and still not open
Honestly surprised the superway offramp narrows to one lane.

T2T open day was Sep 23 2018 & it was opened to traffic the weekend after.

So we could expect to be driving on the NC by 15 February based on that record.

I would’ve thought it would be 2 lanes, but I suppose that only local traffic to Mawson Lakes and the southern fringes of Salisbury is really going to exit there.
Even the case for Salisbury North/Park/Heights could be made to exit at Bolivar.
In which case one lane should be sufficient, though I have no idea why they wouldn’t err on the side of overcompensating.

There'd be a case for parts of Salisbury North, Burton etc to exit at Waterloo Corner.
Salisbury Park/Heights would still be better off exiting at the Superway as you'd have to backtrack to Salisbury Highway anyway.
There would be next to no case for heavy vehicles to exit at the Superway now, so the two lanes merging to 1 so they can merge onto Salisbury Highway makes sense.

I live at Burton so we’ll exit at Waterloo Cnr. Salisbury Park/Heights might have to backtrack to Salisbury Hwy but with the increased speed along the connector and no lights it’d probably be the same time to exit at one of the interchanges and then backtrack along either Kings Rd or Waterloo Cnr Rd. So if that off-ramp is a known bottleneck that’s what smart people would do.

I imagine they won't close Salisbury highway to finish the off ramp until the NC is open. Seeing as traffic volumes on the off ramp will drop after the opening.

Improving connections in the Salisbury area hear and there is what DPTI and Salisbury Council should be focusing on now.
For example Saints Road should be connected to Porter Street. Also grade separate the Kings Road level crossing. Both these improvements would create a ring route that bypasses around the Salisbury Town Centre.

Kings Rd should have been done a long time ago, but it's a safe Labor seat so gets overlooked.

The latest DPTI update has some new video footage of the Northern Connector. Not sure when the footage was taken.

I'm not normally a hater but what a load of b.s.
Apart from telling us how many shrubs they have planted, there is absolutely no information in that video whatsoever. Collaborating generously? Developing formulas? Identifying strategies? What the hell. Your building a road. That's it. Get on with it.
Sorry for the rant
P.S the light poles on the superway to Salisbury highway exit are woefully. Maybe buy less shrubs and more spirit levels

Community open day deferred until Sunday 16 February. Will be where the current site office is near the intersection of Waterloo Corner Road.

I am predicting SA Labor at the 2022 State Election will propose a Salisbury West Rail Bypass via Bolivar as this will make any grade separations of the Gawler Line easier and might score votes
