It looks like a motor-bike helmet that has been dropped onto the space by crane. Apart from the fact that it's design doesn't tie in with the other two components of the complex, it doesn't even blend in with the space it's being built on. I thought this building was a statement to encourage more business to use the facility, not attract them, then send them away with vomit-bags.

Should have just gone with this; simple, but consistent. A modern look that won't grow dated too quickly as architectural trends progress.

See, I think this looks dated already.
Happy to be proven wrong and hopefully as the design is finalised a new colour scheme or a few tweaks will improve the form.

If you look at the original fly-through, the newly proposed stage two seems to be a helluva lot smaller than the original stage two. Sure, alter the design to cut costs, but why make the proposed size considerably smaller?

The brown actually does tie the centre to the Morphett Street extension; however, as with that building, this proposal is inelegant and at odds with the setting.

The whole extention looks like a pile of incongruent shit, much as you would expect from anything overseen by the previous infrastructure Minister

I look forward to 30 years time, when the entire thing gets bulldozed and done all over again.

I agree that it doesn't mesh well with the original or stage one building, but that stage 2 proposal is brilliant. Very similar to the stuff that John Wardle is doing for UniSA, which everyone on here seems to love.

I can't wait to see the finished product. Hopefully this along with SAHMRI will give this end of North Terrace some 'wow' factor.

I know I've said it a million and one times in this thread, but it is going to look SO much better having this building here.
Imagine, travelling in from interstate, your first time to Adelaide. You drive through North Adelaide and over the top of the Montefiore Hill lookout and Light's Vision. You then drive past the picturesque (well, perhaps not at the moment) Adelaide Oval, and the brilliant parklands, golf course and tennis courts. You then cross the River Torrens (with its neat reflections of the nearby buildings on the water. Then you cross the Morphett St bridge and you look to your left and see an out-of-date and quite hideous trainline, with an old silver train passing underneath you. It kinda ruins it a touch. Having this building here will really hide those lines from the otherwise quite pretty view.
Speaking of the eye of the beholder, does anyone know if the carpark is still going to be visible, when driving eastbound along North Tce, after this building has been completed... I mean, that within itself isn't a great look for Adelaide. I feel it would look better perhaps hidden behind some artwork or planters?
I dunno, just my two cents on the topic.

Is that rust on those columns or are they being painted brown?
