Not to complain, but i always wondered why adelaide doesn't have a boxing day sale like everywhere else in this country?

P.S. and a happy new year.

Or Mt Barker/Regional SA :P

I think its good that shops are closed on Christmas & Boxing Day, gives retail workers a nice break.

I think it's because Boxing Day is a semi-public holiday, while we have Proclamation Day, a full public holiday.

Proclamation Day has not been a public holiday for some years now Norman. The public holiday got moved to Boxing Day to be in line with the rest of the country. We still celebrate Proclamation Day here on the 28th, but it's not a public holiday anymore.

Hope you all had a great Christmas and a Happy & Safe New Year - I missed this thread before, or I would have wished you all earlier.
cheers,
Rhino
