Since one for Australia has been made, a thread showing whats happening overseas should be made too.
The biggest high-rise project ever undertaken in history, Burj Dubai, from Dubai in the UAE. The building is almost 30 floors high, with at least 140-150 floors to go:
One of the largest bridge projects currently under way is the new East section of the Bay Bridge in San Francisco, replacing an earthquake vulnerable structure damaged in 1989.
At the moment one of the biggest powerhouses of construction is China, and at the centre of the massive amount of construction is Shanghai, China's most populous city. At the centre of Shanghai is the masterpiece of construction in China at the moment, the Shanghai World Financial Centre, one of tallest under construction in the world.
Further south in the delta of China is another mega tall, Hong Kong's Union Square Tower 7, located on reclaimed land in West Kowloon.
Construction in North America is now beginning to pick up the pace again with Chicago constructing Trump Tower, the tallest building to be constructed in North America since Sears Tower, currently North America's tallest.
The world's longest tunnelling project is the Gotthard Base Tunnel, which runs for 57km between Zurich in Switzerland and Milan in Italy. It began construction in 1996, and should be open in 2012.
