Swimming in the fountains

So in that Adelaide 1966 video, it shows people swimming in the city fountains and lakes.

I was wondering if it was still legal to do so now. My friend and I decided to do it on that really hot Thursday last week in the fountain at Adelaide oval and by the time we walked back to Rundle Mall, we were completely dry. I know people will say "people pee in those fountains" but people pee in the pool.

Difference is pools usually have chlorine added to them to kill any nasty germs or bacterias... :P

Yeah, I have seen people swim in the fountains a lot, but I wouldn't, because I might catch something nasty.

Reclaimed water, no chlorine and it's not changed... Delicious.

I have seen people bathing their naked kids in the Vic Square fountain. :?
I was told that the fountains in Sydney are chlorinated to the level of pools due to the number of people that "swim" in them. Maybe its something we should do here, but I guess that could be seen as encouraging people which could cause liability issues *sigh*

Yeah, your clothes would have provided all the protection you needed against the bacteria
