Website banner - looking for picture proposals
I'm in the early stages of redesigning the forum banner and skin (no huge changes, mostly the same with a refresh).
There's nothing like getting other people to do your work for you. So I thought I crowd source some ideas for a new forum banner. The current one is the first 123 Flinders proposal. That's about to be replaced by a new proposal .
So any ideas of what we can put in the banner next?

Good question ! I'm curious to hear what our forum members think.

How about we just have the malls balls as the banner picture? After all it is the meeting place of Adelaide and this forum is a meeting place for people wishing to discuss all things Adelaide.

Sorry, malls balls screams preachers, emos and activists to me.

Looking for something a little less cliche` Shuz. And possibly a little more development oriented.

Rundle Lantern?
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

How about some heritage, like the old Victoria Sq toilet block?
More seriously, I think SAHMRI would be a good fit (and we know it won't jinx the project like some previous banners, since it's well under construction).

I think we're onto a winner with the SAHMRI.

How about one with all the new developments fronting the Torrens collectively? (Convention Centre, SAHMRI, NRAH, Adelaide Oval, Riverbank, new pedestrian bridge)

Would need some amazingly good source pictures... *hint hint*AG wrote:How about one with all the new developments fronting the Torrens collectively? (Convention Centre, SAHMRI, NRAH, Adelaide Oval, Riverbank, new pedestrian bridge)
They need to show the building in isolation, eg against a solid blue sky, no trees etc in the way.

SAHMRI is a good one. It's a very bold piece of architecture, which is easily visible and will no doubt become another icon for North Terrace and possibly Adelaide.
Another good one could be the Adelaide Oval, 64 Currie Street or even the Adelaide Convention Centre.
Or instead of just changing that particular image, you could always...
- Create a new official logo, possibly having a contest for the best winning design
- Use an actual photo of the skyline or the city streets. Panorama of North Terrace?
- Same idea, but with each refresh the photo could change. Eg City skyline panaroma, Rundle Street to a construction site.
- Or something like this. Add a few cranes, different city angle etc.
Some of those ideas would mean that the banner would have to be re-sized, but hey thought I would put them out there.

...in fact, really loved the City Flyer silhouettes that Qantas have/had.
