Extrude and Exude

Our proposal for a new multi-residential tower near the Southern Gateway to the city, aimed to express a bold and pure extruded architectural form - capturing view, light and space as only South Terrace can.

Huh? 431 King William? The placement of that render makes the tower look like it sitting on South Terrace?

Has to be on South Terrace... Nice find too by the way. If it ever got passed a vision stage, that tower plus Vue and the Gateway building would make a nice little cluster. 30l would make it around the 90-95m tall mark too.

431 King William St is the address of Optus Building, or whatever it's called these days.

I'm with you, Pikey. The more I look at this picture, the more it stumps me. That's definitely shown as being ON the road. It can't be along the side of South Terrace, as there is no gap between the Optus Building and King William Road next to it, there's just another building.

Here is the Google Maps view of the rough area. If anyone can help me figure out where this render is meant to be positioned, that would really help!

This render confuses me... I think I need an adult. :(

EDIT - The CPA building is shown next to the Optus Building. That's over the other side of KW. My mind is imploding here.

SECOND EDIT - I've been staring at this picture for a few minutes. Nothing makes sense anymore. I really would love to see the original picture that they used as a template for this render.

It's pretty easy to work out what's happened. They've obviously designed the render overnight
and have made some mistakes. That road there is south terrace so they've got the address wrong
and they haven't left a gap for King william street.

I wouldn't get too excited, these guys also came up with that other render for the courts building.

It's looking at the South Western corner of the South Terrace/King William intersection from the parklands. It must be for the plot immediately west of the gateway building.

Edit, it's for 151 South Terrace:

Replacing this rather bland building.

That render looks like it has been taken from Pavilion, so definitely it on South Tce as mentioned in the JPE description.

Proposal is clearly for South Terrace, but it's listed on their website as 431. Might be to do with the way the Building sits on the site, who knows.

What an underwhelming proposal... Lacks any kind of design merit IMO.

Doesn't look like something designed in the year 2015..pretty poor imo.

Really? I quite like it. Modern buildings don't just have to be curtain wall glass, pods, or silly blocks wrapping around balconies.

To me it looks like the apartment buildings built on the Gold Coast in the 80's/early 90's. Not inspiring. Not like previous JPE work.
