The site has a rather large footprint, so there should be a lot of apartments. Should be interesting to see how tall this one will be.

This site is a catalyst site due to its large size which means no height limit.... So this is quite underwhelming. Existing building is 3 levels.

I don't know if this a legally valid reason to reject an application, but this one should be rejected on the basis that it does not maximise the development potential of a catalyst site.

There's two proposed office developments in this area of a similar height and neither seem any closer to being built after a while on the market, which makes me dubious this one will do any better.

I kinda like the design, especially the focus on natural lighting and end-of-trip facilities. The height isn't ground breaking, but fairly good for the location being almost at the end of Pirie Street.

Internal demo has been underway for a couple of weeks on site. Royal Park Salvage signage up on the Pirie St. looks as though this development is underway.

299-309 Pirie St, the former Red Cross building, is being demolished by Royal park Salvage Picture (2/7/2022).
