Small outage.. 1 hr today

#1 Post by Howie » Mon May 21, 2007 4:48 pm

Hi guys,

Sorry about the small outage today, between 3:30 and 4:30pm CAST. We tried doing a test roll from our current forum to the new forum software.

Hopefully when it's all complete we'll have added features like
* attachments (depending on our server space requirements)
* friends/foe lists
* youtube code can be put straight into your forum posts
* anti spam measures

and a few other things. We're still quite a few weeks off it, today was a bit of a practice run.

Cheers

Howie

No we're going to the new phpbb3 - but it's probably a little to premature to move yet, as i'm still discovering bugs with RC1.

Yeah friends/foes is like buddy lists you find on other forums - it alerts you when your friends are online and the like.

If you to go Railpage Australia:

http://www.railpage.com.au

They already have a youtube tab working. Just put
and then you have a small video image embedded in your post.

BTW I've actually been visiting Railpage for over 2-3years, but have never posted :lol:, I actually found Railpage way before SSC...

Also congrats to the person who created the RailSA forum, pretty good SA website.

We had youtube and other vb codes working on the first version of the forums, but they were my hacks and workarounds. The disadvantage of this is that it makes it difficult to stay up to date with forum releases.

So I took them off, hoping the guys would put it directly into the next version of phpBB3.0.
