Re: The Garden of Huge Potential.
I would like to thank you all for contributions... I want to stress the word potential.. I think a venue with teh same philosophy of the Garden is what Adelaide needs.. Something with razzle-dazzle. I understand that things can become stale, but if we built a venue that was out of the word - and co...

Re: Are residents outside of Adelaide CBD scared of heights?
I think people are not scared - I really think, innvotation and change scares the living day lights out of so many. As for height, i have argued time and time again. It is not height that bothers me; it is functionality and entertainment. Sure, we advocate for high rise apartments - but that is well...

[COM] Re: #Approved: Rundle Convergence
In reflection - it is a great idea, and should not have to be even considered. It just needs to be rubber stamped and approved! But, in respect of what Perth is planning with its water front - YAWN!! We build a screen (sorry) we talk abot building a screen, talk about it some more, do not approve on...

Re: Perth's Waterfront Redevelopment
why on earth are people trying to drag perth down? we should commend them as a neighboring Australian city for the initiative and vision they are showing with this project. imo, no recently built Adelaide buildings are particularly unique. they look cheap and nasty (flinders link, city central, etc...

The Garden of Huge Potential.
Let me be the first to say, what a great beauty it is to see the Garden of Unearthly delights back in Adelaide. Yet, another great Adelaide example of temporary attractions, venues and places that bring so much culture, fun and novelty to the city. Alas, my happiness is only short - because like all...

Re: #Article : Adelaide 'the next boom town'
Again, an example of money NOT WELL SPENT. I would like Mr. Rann to know something: Firstly, our employment is not so 'gleeful' and 'promising'. He forgot to mention the thousands of SA Families and tens of thousands of SA citizens who are underemployed. Which means, they are working (yes) but their...

Re: Perth's Waterfront Redevelopment
Is this the final nail in the coffin?? A few years back there was Sydney and Melbourne the big guns, then at 3rd-ish Adelaide was on par and competing with Perth and Brisbane... lets hope we can at least keep a head of Hobart and Canberra! What final nail in what coffin. Have you looked at ...

Re: Perth's Waterfront Redevelopment
wilkie said Adelaide's skyline will remain an embarassment whilst the current ACC continues to impose ridiculous height restrictions within the terraces. In Darwin (120,000 people) they are currently finishing off a 29 story and a 33 story building. They have a $1.5bn skyline happening including a ...

Re: Perth's Waterfront Redevelopment
God i wish Adelaide had the willpower and attitude to do some serious planning like this. Well done Perth I think your words sum up how i am finally. Let me be the first to say, that this design not only evokes innovation but creativity - two words which are often left on the editing floor at the A...

This one looks good, but it still looks similar the other buildings that are being proposed... We should be a bit more exciting and innovative with our architecture. But, I will take any tender and render!!!

Re: #Article: Adelaide in 2007 - the year in review
I agree with many of you, that was a great read. I think that Adelaide in 2007 set a benchmark that we need to (only) grow from. We need to keep the speed of development going and add bigger and bolder landmarks into the Adelaide Skyline and CBD. Adelaide is a unique city and we should not be aiming...

Re: 2008 Construction
Well, I for one am really excitied about 2008 for Adelaide. Let 2008 be the year for a skyline lift and let 2009 and beyound for some real (hardcore) development for Adelaide such as: Victoria Square Development River Torrens Upgrade (considering that NYE was moved their, utilize the entire space to...
