[COM] Re: U/C: City Central 8 - Aust Tax Office | 72m 18lvls

The below text is taken (verbatim) from a letter dated 23/02/11 from the builder. To the residents and businesses Re: Construction Update - City Central Tower 8 (12-26 Franklin St) Contruction of the tower 8 building is well under way. The traffic diversion/loading area is in place and the 1st tower...

Re: New electric train chosen for Adelaide

Being smaller gives more options, not fewer. Train companies are extremely reluctant to accept oversize cargo, and they probably don't have the specialist wagons needed to carry the trains. Nor can they tow the trains because the Dandenong line's track is broad gauge only, but the Victorian broad g...

Re: Ian Smith: It's a shame Adelaide is crumbling.

Yo don't mention Canberra and what "problem/s" we have. I know... everyone hates us, thinks all the money is spent here and that we are just an outer suburb of Sydney (sorry for going off topic) I meant capital cities of states. I left out Darwin as well True..Canberra is not a capital ci...

First of all I'm taking this quote out of context if thats ok with you Will :D I have issues Second of all, totally agree with Atd. We're a very well off city compared to europe and America. Every city has their problems. Brisbane with their decline in civil morality Perth with their feeling of exc...

Re: #PRO: City Busway - O-Bahn to West Tce

The only time when the busses REALLY matter, is for several hours of peak hour each day. Outside that time, it's mostly cars. I've had to drive many times across the city via Wakefield and Grenfell/Currie streets late at night, i.e. midnight, and even then, the sequencing of the traffic lights is s...

Re: #ONH: Adelaide Airport Hotel | Andy Thomas Cct | 37m | 9

Isn't it a safety thing? Not letting private vehicles too close to the terminal, or something like that. Except the current departures level road will still be there. But that is only for drop off, you can't park and leave your vehicle. I suppose it won't stop suicide bombers, but will stop the oth...

[COM] Re: #APP: City Central 8 - Aust Tax Office | 72m 18lvls

Certainly a bitter sweet moment - good to see something will be built but cant help but think it's US paying for it! Good to see the ATO is being extra frugal with our hard earned dollars with a modest property & fitout - not. For what they will pay in rent & fitout the ATO [ie US] could be...

Re: Ideas on how to attract more people to SA?

Oh, is this a tourism campaign? I thought that we were talking about promoting SA as a place to live (in this thread). yeah, this thread sort of oscillates between tourism and migration. I suppose they feed off each other... As a person looking at moving to Adel, I started off (& still am ) vis...

Re: SA Archives moving interstate

Whlist not defending the decision, can we stop the "Canberra bashing". The decision was probably made after the Government cut the NAA budget, so with less money it had to close some offices. So blame the Government, not the workers in Canberra. Also it will mean people will be out of a job.
