Yes it may appear that way, however this is the thread with an actual proposal, the other is more like a speculative thread, so they are somewhat different. However the moderators may want to merge them if they see fit.Mants wrote:isnt this that other north terrace proposal?

The Festival City Hotel currently sits on the site of the proposed building.

There is a building from the early 20th century, which is around 5 levels high and looks similar to the building immediately to the east of the proposal.Norman wrote:That looks fantastic! What is there currently?

It's not my most favourite design in the world. Little square windows have never really won me over, nor all these bars across other windows. That said, hurrah for the absence of green glass, and the addition of extra height to the skyline is never a bad thing.
I hope Parlamento moves back into the corner tenancy, too. Nice food, there.

That looks pretty slick. Could have been taller, but considering there's two conjoined buildings of equal height in the project... should look pretty modern and elegant when completed, and bulk up that (fairly central) area pretty nicely.

is it just me, or do parts of the western facade look like they are exposed concrete?
[COM] Re: 140 North Terrace 2x18 levels - 53m
Wow that is damn nice for student accommodation. A lot of glass in the design too, although I am guessing the eastern elevation will be mostly concrete. Also that height diagram looks weird. I reckon they are trying to under-do the height in that diagram. This will add some much needed modern architecture into this part of our skyline.

Thats look nice, great to hear about the 2 level podium with shops and cafes.
Hopefully this and Octogan will boast Hindley Street.

Awesome find! It'll be a great addition to the area, right on the tram line and all. I've added this to the map. Will, do you mind if I post it on SSC?
