Re: University of South Australia - Developments and News
Good point re Adelaide Uni, after having a think given the chance to have their complete campus again im sure they would consider it, as opposed to sporadic buildings over the CBD. Im all for City West being further developed its just the campus would need to be huge to accommodate the amount of stu...

Re: University of South Australia - Developments and News
Sorry Shuz was assuming from the Adelaide railway station to Mawson, used to take me about 50 mins door to door from Marion to Mawson in my first year. It does make economic sense to move all courses to City West, I just don't see it happening for sometime with recent developments at MM Mawson and t...

Re: University of South Australia - Developments and News
I agree that planning should be merged with architecture, and in the short term architecture should be moved to city east to be with planning/construction management to effectively free up space for the health division to move closer to the RAH. Though Magill campus is a fantastic place aestheticall...

Re: Lights, culture, action: how to fix Adelaide after dark
Northern lights should be a permanent feature, it made that area so much more "vibrant" during the arts festival. It could be changed throughout the year, promoting different designs amongst schools, the universities, dare I say advertising (within reason/ design requirements) and would be...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw
Excellent pics! Can't wait for September, buses just aren't the same....Be interesting to know how well the grade separation is going especially with Belair reopening in June? Good to see some progress though.

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw
Of course I read the article prior to putting it up. You would assume that being a tensioning pole than it would need to be placed at a correct interval, and yes at 8m it is fairly tall and would obstruct their views, but as DPTI have said in the article there has been a fair bit of consideration an...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw
I am sorry if I insulted anyone. I understand that they are not objecting to the electrification but I mean surely the spacing and position of the poles has been worked out to the millimeter of where they can be placed, and yes it is a shame that it will obstruct their view but at the end of the day...

Re: Lights, culture, action: how to fix Adelaide after dark
Excellent point about the public transport. I still have no idea why the after midnight services are not extended for the Friday night / Sat early morning period. There are heaps of people in the city all of who are far from being able to drive and no way to get home except a cab after midnight. In ...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw
Yeah it was the Mitchell Park station which I had a look at a few weeks ago. Noticed they haven't continued towards Ascot Park yet though, however did see a few lying around the place just waiting to go up. It will all happen soon enough

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw
I stand corrected . I swear there was relatively new concrete sleepers near the Tonsley station but I must be wrong. Still I guess as long as there are poles going up / are up is a good sign.

Re: Lights, culture, action: how to fix Adelaide after dark
light up the facades of heritage buildings please. Funnily enough I was only talking to a friend about that the other night. Adelaide does have truly beautiful buildings and yet once its dark they go completely unnoticed, perhaps along the mall the council could invest in some lighting for the more...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw
I'm fairly sure its almost finished. When I was down that way the other week there were poles everywhere and nice new track at least at Clovelly Park anyway. As for the Tonsley line being closed, with the Tonsley development going on (even if Flinders pull out) its still going to be a huge project w...

Re: Lights, culture, action: how to fix Adelaide after dark
As many have said here, more cafes / restaurants/ eateries / things to do after dark. The mall should have more restaurants so that once the shops close it does not become a ghost town, more mixed use is what is needed. The more people, the safer it is, the safer it is, the more people will come. As...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw
Fantastic shots!, good to see some progress being made as well. It is interesting to see how the local newspaper continues to say that the electric trains will be running in September when DPTI itself has said that they will be testing them in September with the diesels doing the regular services. M...
