Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
The Advertiser is reporting Emirates is officlally returning to Adelaide! I know it has been discussed recently, but great for it to be formalised. https://www.emirates.com/media-centre/emirates-to-make-highly-anticipated-return-to-adelaide-in-october-2024/ The Advertiser a bit slow on the uptake :D

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
I'm not sure that ADL-SIN would fail for QF. It's a good opportunity for people to redeem Qantas points on an international flight without needing to fly interstate. This could also potentially feed into QF1 at SIN. Plus having 2 international airliners offering ADL-SIN can only be good for airfare...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
I think it is disgraceful that the only place you can fly overseas by Quantas is Kingscoat in the republic of Kangaroo Island. yet you could fly to Singapore and the restof Asia and Europe by Quntas back in the 1980's, It’s is utterly disgraceful. And they have the the GALL to call themselves the n...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
9news reporting yesterday the premier will have a long awaited high-level meeting with Qantas’s CEO Vanessa Hudson soon. Pushing to have international flights back to quote “Asia”, also floating the idea of the United States apparently. Hopefully, Qantas are considering it. It would work hand in ha...

[PRO] Re: Playford Ice Arena
should be building more basketball courts in Playford, not ice skating rinks Is there a shortage? Quite a few schools in the area have basketball courts, as well as the Council-owned John McVeity Centre. There aren't any Ice Hockey rinks in the area. Given there's only 1 ice rink in Adelaide I'd sa...

Re: News & Developments: Other Suburban Retail
Yeah, it used to be a Bi-Lo until that brand was retired, and for some reason they have continued to keep it open. Probably trying to stop Aldi or Woolies from coming into the centre. Aldi are already in the centre (taking the former bowling alley space that was actually the original Bi-Lo space ba...

yeah I saw them fitting the big glass panels on the roof today, looks great. It'll be our little version of Chadstone in Melbourne! Definitely getting the upscale part of Chadstone vibe here, though I suspect Burnside is focusing purely on the high end market, as opposed to Chadstone catering to ev...

Re: News & Discussion : New Restaurants, Bars & Night Clubs
The latest update on Belles Hot Chicken is that they'll finally open their Adelaide store in April.
Considering little is known of where they're opening, I'm not too convinced of this, but happy to be proven wrong.

Timezone?? Never expected they to build at Timezone bowling one if there going to keep there old Timezone Given the size of the current Timezone, and it's being relatively new itself, I wonder if Timezone stays where it is and Zone Bowling will go into this space? Otherwise it would be a fairly sma...

I remember when they opened the cinemas at Marion over twenty years ago now? 25 year nearly? Was one of the biggest cinemas in the world at one point. I think it held that title briefly. Nice to see it getting upgraded Yep - they opened in 1997, just in time for Titanic (which was the first movie I...

[PRO] Re: Westfield Marion (2019/20 Extension)
The massive redevelopment of Event Cinemas is now underway. Vmax cinemas currently being refitted along with a few others with the rest to follow. Gold Class and Candy Bar areas will also be completely gutted and rebuilt in the next year or two. Well overdue, especially the smaller cinemas that hav...
