Yeah exactly, North Terrace is Adelaide's version of Billionaires Row in NYC in front of Central Park

Except for the carparks and student apartments ;)

With the exception of the switch ... which is an abomination.

Dude, you were simping pretty hard for that building back when it was ...

[U/C] Re: Burnside Village (Extension)

I don't think I've heard it called the "Burnside shopping centre". It's either the "Burnside Village" or just "the Village".

It's been a horrendously pedestrian-unfriendly development. Absolute nightmare accessing the shops on foot from the north and east, although access from the east and the town ...

Approved by the SCAP - the total demise of a wonderful idea and opportunity for KWS, into this :(

Calling it: This is probably the biggest disappointment since 20-22 Currie St, if not, of all sensational-adelaide's history. Wow!

Nah, there was a big bronze 150m skyscraper proposed for the ...

It looks like the ART apartments and Kodo had a baby.

That is to say, I don't like it. I imagine the western wall looks the same as the eastern wall too?

It looks like the ibis on Grenfell and the UTS building near Central Station in Sydney had a baby.

It's unique for sure, but I'm dubious as to how good it would look in the flesh.

Now you all know me, myself and I have a very controversial opinion in here, but hear me out.
I don't give two shits about the market arcade bit, but when is this 130m tower going to be finished?
Thats all that matters, are any completion dates announced?

Are you serious or is this a troll post ...

A bit sad that bungalow with the green roof was knocked down. One of the few remaining relics of the stretch of road before all those ugly low-rise office blocks went in (yes I know there's still some like the one on the corner of George Street, but I heard this stretch once resembled Robe/Fitzroy ...

Does this development even have a website yet? The JWDT website doesn't seem to exist anymore and a quick search of "SA1 tower" or "207 Pulteney Street" only yields the news articles shared on here previously.

If there's no website then I imagine construction might still be some time away, as they ...

I don't mind this building (203 North Terrace, not the "cheese"). It's no masterpiece and I doubt it will win any architectural awards, but at least the precast colouring is consistent and I prefer the beige precast to the grey. But who knows, maybe next time I see it in the flesh I'll change my ...

The structural engineers, Hera Engineering, posted the following on LinkedIn:

Construction has started on a 35-storey (119m) student accommodation building at 203 North Terrace, in the Adelaide CBD. Once completed this will be the 4th tallest structure is South Australia.

Hera Engineering is ...

I hope there's not a cheapening of the design/finished product associated with this application.

Wishful thinking, but if there is, I wouldn't mind SCAP reconsidering allowing the existing building to be demolished.

I'm not going to bump its thread, but I noticed that the JWDT site is no longer active (developers behind 207 Pulteney Street). Given it's now 2 years since the last hint at the projects existence and the developers site no longer even seems to exist I wonder if we can finally drive a stake ...

Re: Which was Adelaides most significant decade for Infrastructure development

In terms of difference in the CBD, a tie between the 70's and 80's.

In terms of impact to the suburbs, definitely the last 10.

Unless you're talking purely about height, the 2010s saw more 40m+ highrises completed than any other decade. Numbers are something like this (including buildings ...

I suppose there's an element of truth in 'changing the skyline'. As a kid coming home from school westbound from Norwood, 45 Pirie St filled that picture, together with its huge ING logo (wonder if it's still there?). This new building will cover that up.

By the way I'm struggling to think of a ...

Who are the architects? Sorta evokes a slug for me, but it looks good and is great for the region.

I imagine construction might be delayed somewhat, but I think it'll remain feasible even despite the pandemic given it'll be targeted at the high end, who will remain wealthy on the other side of ...
