Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
It's laughable for all of you in here to whinge about the people whinging about the tram because from what I've read, absolutley none of you deal with the tram on a daily basis to experience what everyone else has. The no right turns and the changes to light patterns and where you can and can't turn...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
Added at least 10 minute travel time across the city in non peak and 20+ in peak well done SA Gov. 20 minutes? lol That made me laugh. I'd hate to see your driving if it takes you that long. That's gold. what, sitting in a lane for 20 minutes going snails pace? You clearly don't drive in the city a...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
Rubberman brings up a very valid point that has not really been considered by the engineers who have designed the curves at North Terrace. This has not been tested AFAIK, and it would be interesting to see what the minimum clearance between two passing H-sets would be. It's too late to rebuild the ...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
By the way, I believe the last 3 stops from Brighton Rd to Moseley Sq already operate within a free travel area, ie you dont need a valid ticket when travelling between these 3 stops. This appears to be managed OK. Froggy, I give u some points for calling for an upgrade to our train system, I agree...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
A few points. If the one tram is going to continue from Glenelg through the city they won't be able to police free ticketing, hence why I think they'll run one tram on the extension and one to glenelg. Huh? what are u on about. Are u suggesting that when the tram from Glenelg gets to South Terrace,...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
also i know i come acoss as hating PT but only what I deem to be stupid projects like this one. I'd love for Adelaide to have an underground tram or rail network around town maybe a tram version of the tube etc even a monorail going through the top of regent arcade! But then I'd be on the positive a...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
froggy, i think it's about time to build a bridge and get over it, the tramline is there now, whether you like it or not. why dont you put your energies into complaining about something worthwhile such as the ailing train system? the tram is aesthetically pleasing and should not be viewed as a sing...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
Firstly, a tram comes every 7 minutes, and the trip takes no more than 5 minutes, so the most extreme time amount is 12 minutes. Go back and do your maths! You KNOW it won't run on time. Um... the trams have priority, so they DON'T have to wait for a green light or whatever. Trams have priority jus...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
Another thing, Froggy - don't assume that everyone is young enough and/or fit enough to walk to work from the Railway Station (or wherever) in 5 minutes, because they're not! If you opened your eyes a bit, you would see that there are people around who would find the walk uphill from the station to...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
How exactly is this tramline to no where going to increase public patronage to work? It's simply not, that's an argument from rail lovers. It really doesn't change how anyone gets into work, you are not going to suddenly stop driving and start catching the train in because you can now get out and w...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
Guys, the tramline corridor between Greenhill Road and Jetty Rd is a major, important stretch of land that would be worth millions, so to Froggy, why not allow it to reach its best potential. You can NOT have an important transport corridor end on the fringe on the CBD. Its needs to go through it. ...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
Why not have both. They are two different routes, If i were a tourist i'ld opt for the most scenic, eg through the city and the sea side. It may be a good investment rather than a waste of money if it generates popularity.Take a chance. I have a feeling you don't get out to the Western suburbs much...
