Re: News & Discussion: Trams

its still quicker to walk anywhere in the city than it is to catch a tram Not quite true, but trams do run way too slowly in the CBD that's for sure. Trams need priority signalling at intersections. Yep. Even if they're unwilling to increase the speeds that trams can travel in certain parts of the ...

[U/C] Re: Main South Road & Victor Harbor Road Upgrade

My December update is now up, the project is coming together nicely. I suspect that by June the road will be on the new duplicated lanes and the existing ones will be rebuilt. The new Aldinga/Aldinga Beach Roads alignment should be complete by then as well. https://youtu.be/cCIw2i3X_d0 Great video,...

[U/C] Re: 88 O'Connell Street | 63m | 13, 13 and 15 Levels | Mixed Use

The King William Street bridge desperately, desperately needs an attractive replacement rather than a generic concrete piece of crap like the Morphett Street bridge. Could they build a stronger replica of the original bridge? Or a modern construction bridge with a facade that matches the original? ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

I contacted the council reguarding the colour light in Topham Mall not working. Looks like repairs will be done to it. Pathetic really that its taken this long for something to be done. Have you ever used the male bathrooms at Topham Mall before? It looks like it's had no maintenance work done on i...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

The new one on Goodwood Rd replaced the old one on Belair Rd at Hawthorn. But yeah, there have been plenty of new takeaway joints opening up around Adelaide in the past 5 years or so.

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Trams are slow in the CBD because they're not prioritised at intersections. It wouldn't take a whole lot of tinkering with traffic light systems to speed up trips.

Re: Beer Garden

Can the ACCC be any more useless? They're suing the Coles and Woolies apparently, because they've finally come to the conclusion that they're price gauging. Something any ordinary person could have told them years ago. Apparently each instance can draw a fine of $50 million. I say not just fine the...

Re: The Housing Crisis

This makes for some pretty dire reading, S.A's housing affordability is the worst it's ever been. Remembering that affordability is rated on average earnings and pricing, not by outright property values. From realestate.com.au today.... SA’s housing unaffordability laid bare in damning new report T...

Re: The SA Politics Thread

Just on SA Politics Do we think we will ever get an LNP win again or are we ultimately waiting for the Greens to be the 2nd main party ? The way both major parties are going, that's possible. However, if the Libs go down, it's likely that a more moderate centre right party will start to replace the...
