Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Just out of curiosity, how would grade separating and removing all the Level Crossings between Glanville and Outer Harbor work? Would it be like Melbourne with SkyRail? Considering the proximity between stations and the number of Level Crossings? How much of an impact would it be for local residents...

[U/C] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line
From the Public Transport Projects Alliance page Works will take place within the rail corridor in Port Adelaide, Alberton and Rosewater. Works will be undertaken at night to minimise disruption to the Outer Harbor train service. Works include: Removal of temporarily concrete barriers. Rail signalli...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
So out of pure curiosity. If the outer harbour line was to be electrified. - Would the Torrens bridge stay and use a different clearance of Overhead structures, or - Would it be modified according to similar approaches like the Goodwood underpass and the king st pedestrian bridge, or - Would it have...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
There's a few of those. There's 2 buffer points on the new Elizabeth turnback track which got used today as a train had to get passengers to disembark due to an electrical fault. There's 1 north of the Gawler Junction that heads towards the old roseworthy and Nuriootpa line. All of them have assist...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
The skip-stop pattern used on the Gawler line has got to go........what a disincentive to use public transport! You are sitting a the train station and you can see the train coming, but no it does not stop, in fact it speeds up......  Time to delete Greenfields, Nurlutta and Gawl...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Just out of pure curiosity.
How many NEW electric trains are here?
I know 4023 and 4024 have entered service.
Is there a 4025-4034 sets or just 4023 and 4024 here at the moment of this post?
It's been a while since I've seen any posts or anything about new trains 4025 and above for several months.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Also building on that. If you were to merge woodlands pk and Edwardstown together, you have to think about passenger access for passengers who alight and board at woodlands park because of Castle Plaza down the road from the station. Explains why Edwardstown and woodlands park haven't merged probabl...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
The Advertiser have pulled the story off the main digital site....there are no problems with the Gawler line electrification and if there are, they don't warrant any media coverage. When your mates in the media decide to squash any stories that harm Marshall's electoral chances.... If the Gawler li...

Getting closer... maybe. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220108/f9738476aa70c0ae51b537f5dbf1ef87.jpg Rare chance to catch a ride, you never see diesels in revenue service on those lines anymore. I've been told it's so that the 4000s can be trialled on the Gawler Line and drivers can be trained. ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Can confirm progress noted by Jacob. All new signals from N Adelaide to Gawler are now upright and illuminated. One signal N of Grrenfields is still hooded. I noticed in several locations insulated joints have now been bypassed with bonds. Axle counters have been fitted to the ARTC crossing to N en...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Went out for a drive to get petrol and noticed from Parafield Gardens up to Munno Para the new LED signals are now preset to their default position, I couldnt grab a photo cos I was driving and it was busy. Signal outside Parafield Gdns Northbound is sitting on the Yellow Aspect, also signals betwee...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Went out to a few stations today to see the progress and all masts are erected except for a few at Gawler Railway Station, maybe like a couple of dozen still needed for erection and then thats done. The existing signals are now switched off and completely dead while some new signals are switched on ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Thanks for the detailed update. Is it possible that the electrification works will be mostly completed on the original timetable, and the recent delay is to 1) allow for train delivery and 2) avoid having to close the line again soon after to install the Torrens Road bridge? It seems that the recen...
