Looks like the core pit for Santos is being dug out, well as of friday it was. Just a guess..

Looks like yet another tower crane is on the way for 'lil old 'Laide! So with the new CC1 crane and this, that should make 6 in the CBD

I went to the city to take some photos, on Sunday 18. The base of the tower crane was up, but the crane had not been erected at the time. I can confirm is that there appears to be some kind of work on the foundations of the building. However the hole where the foundations are been layed is small, and it has confused me a little. Not sure if it is part of the Santos tower or something else.

Took these pics about 30 mins ago, and this thing is taaaaaall already, but the green section at the top looks like it's ready to accept a climbing collar, so Santos should be taller than this section. This would have to easily be the tallest freestanding section of crane that's gone up in Adelaide for a long time.
You can see from the last pic, just how big the sonofabitch is!

The formwork for the core and the box has started. Depending on whether or not the workers around the city have been given this week off or not, due to the public hols, we may see the completed core box by friday.
