For starters, my avatar is the well-known Adelaide Aquatic Centre insignia from 1989.

As I saw someone else mention — they scrapped the panel of experts that was the Integrated Design Commission, and now they want to set up a panel of laymen in it's place.

I agree. It's hard not to be cynical when the government not only abolished the IDC but has apparently forgotten about the IDC's very similar 5000+ initiative.

Exactly! Your had crowdsourced ideas that were then filtered/reviewed by experts, who then used them along with their own ideas and experience to inform direction. Definitely superior to this new concept.
Perhaps this conversation should be moved elsewhere, it has much relevance to development Adelaide, so shouldn't be buried in the off-topic thread.

Opposition Leader Steven Marshall's advice for Mr Weatherill wrote: "(Scrap) Labor's toxic car park tax which will drive up already high cost-of-living pressures for South Australians".
Good one Steven. That's what's driving up the high cost of living. Yeah.

cheers,

I'm not supportive of the tax, but it is $2. Two measiy dollars. $10 in a working week. That doesn't even buy you lunch these days. It's pretty insignificant.

I don't agree with it because it is stupid, plain and simple.

I'm not saying you're wrong. But "it's stupid" isn't an argument.

Shuz, you're not looking hard enough if you can't get a filling lunch for under $10...!
Also, BTW, Nathan - awesome photos.
It's = it is; its = everything else.
You're = you are; your = belongs to.
Than = comparative ("bigger than"); then = next.

well it forms the start of one
the policy is a short sighted, narrow minded, ill directed policy which avoids actually doing anything about congestion and simply raises the parking fee for people - and also acts as a disincentive for people to come to the city - given how poor PT is.
So in short, it is a stupid policy
