Thoughts for a name for the new realigned Grenfell Street (City) to Rundle Street (Kent Town)?

I think both Rundle and Grenfell would prove confusing. North East connector or the like would be horrid.
Rymill Road would have my vote.

If you want to avoid confusion, why not just name it Grenfell, since in all practicallity it's going to simply be an extension of Grenfell St, and rename Rundle Street in Kent Town to Rundle Road...

Melbourne's lost its enthusiasm for the Grand Prix. We should be ready to reclaim it when we can.

Melbourne never had any passion for the Grand Prix anyway.

Their "passion" was about instilling confidence in Melbournians again. That's why they poached the GP from us.
Our government didn't show any interest in it, and the Vics by stealth signed a deal before our last race had even happened. We let the F1 go, so the Vics took it.

I agree with Aidan. We should try bring it back to Adelaide, in the traditional end of year slot. Our festival season should start with the Formula 1, and end with the Clipsal 500 weekend. With a secondary V8 race at Tailem Bend in the middle of the year, providing the motorsport complex out there gets approval.
Why can't we be the Motorsport and Festival state/city?

The F1 in Brazil has been shared between Rio and Sao Paolo..
In fact many circuits have held the F1 on and off for decades. So just to right it off coming back to Adelaide because we had it once and it's moved on now, is naive.

Saying it's a waste of money is just showing our timid, scared little child in the corner still traumatized by the past, conservative mentality that holds this state back.

It isn't just cars racing around a circuit for hours, when it's in Adelaide. It's a festival in it's own right that attracts hundreds of thousands of people.

That's an awesome idea. Festival season going from late October to late March, then football season fills in from early April to end September.

People who think it is a waste of money may have many different reasons outside the ultra negative ones who have listed.

I'd also add that name calling won't get those people to change their mind just because you call them timid and conservative.

I don't care one way or another, but I'd suggest the development of things like the tour down under suggests this timid stuff you just sprouted is well, crap.

They will have to change the Tour Down Under opening event route though. This would reduce the connection Rundle Street and the East End has with it. Maybe they could take the bikes through the bus tunnel like the Monaco Grand Prix.

That's not that big of a problem. They did it for the 2014 tour.

Yes that could work well. Also calling it Grenfell Road could help distinguish it from the current street.

Very well said. The F1 also has 1000x the reach the Clipsal 500 does.

Back on topic, agree that the new road should simply be named Grenfell Road or whatever - all about avoiding confusion. I like Rymill Road too.
