I know who you are talking about. SAR526 on Railpage, I think his name is James Renfrey but I am 100% sure. He has posted on railpage about seeing the 'Webb engines' (500, 600 and 700 classes) when they were new in 1926 at the age of 4 and is generally considered as one of the best members there for his deep knowledge on the subject. Well respected all round.

Besides, this is something you forgot to pick up on. If you were going to lie about your age, you would be aiming for a YOUNGER age or, if applying a job, a slightly older one. Not 80.

by jingos all you freaks are young! i'm not the oldest so far but being of the 1974 vintage gets me close ...
anyone else think that the demographic is largely under-30 cos thats were all the web-heads are, or is it that architects, urban planners and developers get jaded after 25 and stop caring enough to post and discuss? (i'm leaning to the latter)

valid point ... could that be why they end up jaded and bitter at 20? just kidding, age is of no consequence in an on-line forum - all opinions are just that - opinions, and no life or death decisions are likely to be made based on info posted in a forum. but i think we might have the younger ones posting up every thought, whereas the more mature thinkers could be less eager to get posts up and spend more time thinking about what they say ...

then again maybe i am a 14 year old pretending?

Stelaris - while this train of thought is going, I thought I'd mention how impressed I have been with your posts - great depth, insight, valuable projections - I picked up some ago that you must have had some kind of extended academic background -and that you seemed to have a good degee of experience to refer to in your posts - am I right?. Overall I find your posts cause me to think and sometimes re evaluate.
