They probably won't be able to move in to the apartment until both towers are finished, however if they were allowed to they'd probably be given the option to either move in or wait.SRW wrote:Practically too you'd have to imagine it'd be harder to sell apartments in one tower if the prospect of living in it means being subsequently adjacent to the construction of the other.

multi tower developmets are staged the world over, it really isn't a problem. it makes the whole thing more viable because the developers have the upfront profit from selling the first stage to fund the next. standard. even the second world trade centre was started 6 months after the first.

As far as I remember the floor plans (and that particular one is out of my price range), on the North tower there is one apartment per floor that has windows directly opposite the other tower. However it's a fairly large one that has also a large window front facing west, so they are trying to compensate that way.Splashmo wrote:Dumb question but is the idea that some apartments will face directly into those in the opposite building?

$250 million Gerry Karidis development on old Trims site gets DAC approval to start construction early in 2017

MORE than 500 construction jobs are expected to be created when work begins on an ultra-luxury $250 million development on a prominent CBD site within the next few months.
The 31-storey Echelon development on the Trims clothing store site on King William St will boast residential and commercial components, according to property developer Gerry Karidis, who is behind the project.
The development — which received Development Assesment Commission approval late last week — will include two towers with 63 residential apartments each and will bring a new level of luxury to the city, Mr Karidis said.
“Having apartments within the top floors means everyone living in this vertical village enjoys a panoramic bird’s eye view of our beautiful city centre, parklands, hills and sea,” said Mr Karidis, who plans to become the building’s first resident.
The 114m tall project has already sparked significant state, national and international interest, with significant levels of pre-sale inquiries from residential and commercial buyers wanting to secure their place in the high rise development, he said.
More than 20 per cent of the two and three-bedroom apartments have already been sold.
Specialised retailers and high-end eateries are planned for the landmark development, which will include a rooftop silver service restaurant and bar, cafes, day spa, medical facilities and a state of the art lifestyle entertainment area.
There will be 18 floors of commercial floor space across the two towers, for either purchase or lease, while an additional two floors of retail space will include a world class restaurant and services to support the upper floors of the towers.
Construction will start early in 2017 and is expected to take two years to complete. Hundreds more permanent jobs are expected to be created upon completion.
The Karidis Corporation has been involved in more than 5000 residential, commercial and retirement dwellings across South Australia and Victoria since its inception 50 years ago.

Construction to start early next year. I'll believe that when I see it. Remember that Karidis is greek.
Correct me if I am wrong but the showroom for this project has just opened over the last few weeks.
So after just a month or two they're going to close the showroom and start construction ?

Good thing is that there are only 64 apartments to sell, and 20% of them have already sold.

I fail to see how him being Greek is related to the project. I mean really...

So say "remember that he may not be honest" not " Remember he's Greek" that's an assumption that you can not back up. Basing that on his ethnicity is wrong.

Greek people have a reputation for tax evasion.timtam20292 wrote:So say "remember that he may not be honest" not " Remember he's Greek" that's an assumption that you can not back up. Basing that on his ethnicity is wrong.
Why do you think the economy and the government in Greece had so many problems and debt a couple of years ago ?
It's because no one there pays any tax. They brought it on themselves lol.
