It’s fine. There would be an expectation that the bridge would be a standard height, same goes for power lines

The excavation on both sides of the Flinders Drive Bridge is not yet complete. As such I'm sure the final clearance will be adjusted to suit more than just construction vehicles.

except the one that’s barely used running between the cbd and airport, why would double decker buses be a consideration?

Buses are only allowed to be 4.3m. Stock crates and car carriers are allowed 4.6m and OD loads up to 4.9m with a permit, so I doubt there would be an issue for a bus since car carriers and stock crates would expect unrestricted passage.

Note that a 60km/h speed limit will apply, until the completion of these final road works and the lowered motorway will be fully open from 6am Monday 15 October 2018 (weather permitting) with a 80km/h speed limit.

No, it will remain at 80km/h. The road is designed for 90km/h, but the limit is always 10km/h lower than the design speed.
The 80km/h limit is common across many of the other inner urban freeways in Australia, including in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

The speed limit signs were off as of tonight, so 80km/h limit is good to go!

Pretty sure the metropolitan ring road is 100, at least it was the last time I drove on it.
