I've heard there is some anti development sentiment already.

Not surprised. Some numpty from Glynde and a NIMBY in Wood Street are responsible for the delay in the building of the new $5.3m Norwood FC clubrooms beginning:(

Work was supposed to start already, but the Glynde man was a concerned ratepayer and objected to the NP&SP council putting in $2m of council funds so they had to take the time to respond to his submission. The bloke in Wood Street is concerned about undesirables and loutish behaviour ruining the ambiance of his street and he actually has a Go fundMe set set up to help hire lawyers to argue against the already approved development Its a clubroom upgrade not a bloody nightclub! f**cking NIMBYs have far too much clout in this town.
Sorry...club in existence since 1878 and the oval is over 100 years old and badly needs an upgrade..this sort of inaction(how rlong must we wait for decent facilities at Norwood Oval?) really gets my goat

Good News. Common Sense prevails and their objection has been withdrawn, meaning NFC can finally get on with building their much needed new clubrooms/Community centre

I spoke to the club last weekend. Construction of the Wolf Blass Centre will commence once the SANFL season concludes.

Speaking to Norwood FC yesterday...this development The Wolf Blass Centre) will kickoff once the current SANFL season is complete. ie late Sept, but more likely early October.
Already memorabilia has been removed from the Premiers Bar at the very southern end of the Centenery stand(and under the Baulderstone Stand) to be placed into storage ahead of demolition works.

This one progressing nicely. Onto second level works this week.

Site huts also onsite at nearby Nuova apartment site (near water tower) and some geotechnical testing at peregrines hq last week. This area is going to be very busy with construction works in the near future! Can’t wait to see that end of the parade abuzz with a bit of medium density. Will be a vastly different feel to how it currently is.
