normangerman, thanks for the pics. Looks like there's plenty of room between the rail and road bridges.
Cheers

Does anyone know what is going on with this? Last I heard the completion has been deleyed from what was originally October this year till March 2008?...
[COM] Re: Bakewell Underpass Project - Updates
No. The Port River Expressway bridges were reported as delayed until 2008 on the news last night. This project is still on track.

Not sure about that report, it may have been delayed. It was due for completion at the end of this year. Anyway at least these projects are going ahead.

If you have a look at the photos I took recently, they are slowly getting is done. I would not be surprized if they open by the end of the year.bmw boy wrote:A news report at the end of july said its on track... and goping to be completyed by the end of the year.

I hope theyre covering up the gap between the two bridges. That looks rather silly like that.

looks great.
Cant wait to see how traffic will be after they widen the road to the width of the bridge.

From the DTEI website:
Two bridges will span the underpass carrying road traffic along James Congdon Drive and East Terrace, and rail traffic on the TransAdelaide metropolitan tracks and the national Australian Rail Track Corporation freight track. Both bridges will also cater for pedestrian and cyclist traffic. The gap between the two bridges will allow light and fresh air into the underpass and, without a central supporting wall, there will be one clear open span across the full underpass width.
