Vision: Light Square Tower - 100f / 500m

Thanks to Al - apparently a Vision of a 100f, 500m tower concept for Adelaide was submitted to the Premier by an Adelaide architect.

In comparison to Westpac it looks a lot taller than 500m. Westpac = 135m so 4 Westpacs @ 135m = 540m and it looks more like 5 or 6 Westpacs. Enough Maths for 1 day

Stunning, but out of place due to the geometric aesthetics as yet! lol. Can't believe it got to an architect and the premier. Nevertheless, vision is what we need.

They tried something like this in Brisbane a couple of years ago - one objection was that it would sink in the river soil as the foundations would have to go below the river surface level, and hence the water table.

Those who aren't in the know this has been floating around since early this year. And word has it that it reached the premier's office. Not sure if this or a scaled down version was meant to be a serious proposal, but as you can see it uses the balfours site, which has been spoken with the towers going up there.

Perhaps a scaled down 200m version somewhere on the west or south side of the cbd is appropriate?

Also does anyone have any information about that Victoria Square tower vision?

I would love to see some kind of monument/tower at say Vic Square .. I've said it before, we could have a larger scale version of the silver balls (perched on top of a tower) with an observation deck with 360 degree views .. something similar to the tower in Shanghai with the two spheres .. make it say 60 or so metres high .. that is very uniquely South Australian.

.. not sure if it could be silver though as the glare from the sun may harm old age pensioners (or ACC members) retiners!
