Thanks for that Andy, I was wondering how to get a closeup of what was happening up there. I see the yellow bin things are gone and they are putting the glass in. I'm guessing once they have finished lifting all the stuff for the top floor they will start to pull the crane down? so may be in the next 3 weeks may be?

Making an impact from the air..
The skyline in general is looking much broader and beefier than a few years ago

Quick snap of the laneway. I’m looking forward to when the old facade will be incorporated into the building.

There’s some new gold mesh cladding on the western side of the tower’s roof feature. Only a small amount so far but it looks as though it could be quite striking.

Very impressed by the design elements and attention to detail on the Austin Street facade, including the treatment of the old Assay House. Given that Austin Street is a very narrow service lane they could have paid minimal attention to the look and feel, and focus the glamour entirely on the arcade side but chose quality all round. Really looking forward to the finished product here.

You mean its looking much broader and beefier than 35 years ago.
I've been waiting my whole life for these new building to come through.

I would say from the start of the decade. The two new tallest help very much but to changing the skyline but many of the other developments have really ‘beefed’ out the skyline and made it feel more full and dense.

From today. It keeps getting better and better. Once complete with a full clean it'll be amazing.
Deserved to have another 40 levels on it!

Great shots pikey pies. It's amazing what the final result is, considering the history of proposals on the site. I remember the furor about 15 years ago when the then owner/developer tried proposing some slap up high rise that was going to be built with imported/FIFO chinese labour. Not sure whether it was the council or the unions that killed that thing first.
