I don’t want to drag it on but aceman do you understand it is you making a statement of fact, “there won’t be a season this year” when in fact it is not a fact but only your opinion?

mate nothing is fact, my opinion is not a fact and neither is anything the afl is proposing. it's a proposal nothing else. it won't happen unless it's medically approved. do you really believe the state government will allow a group of afl teams to form their own bubble at adelaide oval just to get some tv revenue? the afl will do anything to stage games in empty stadiums because they are haemorrhaging millions each week due to no games being played. what the afl want and what the afl will get are two different things. state premiers have already said that there will be no exemptions for the afl or nrl. they need to abide by the same restrictions as everyone else.how good is he wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 12:50 pmI don’t want to drag it on but aceman do you understand it is you making a statement of fact, “there won’t be a season this year” when in fact it is not a fact but only your opinion?

You are still not getting it. I said there is “a potential AFL start date at the end of July.” ie its a possibility (which it is) and is correct. Btw you actually are agreeing with this.
What you said though is “there WON’T be a season this year” which is IN-CORRECT as you dont know if there will or won’t be a season this year so how can you be so certain there WON’T be a season this year?
So my answer to you is there still MAY be a season this year and so your statement is therefore WRONG.
If anyone else on the forum wants to have a say/take over replying as I’m kinda over it.

The AFL had stated they ARE intending to recommence this year. and the format will be finalised in the next few weeks. The main hurdle is obviously the various state border restrictions, so what needs to be finalised is IF the teams can get an exemption (exactly like FIFO mine workers in and out of states), or they play round Robbin style in various lockdown zones such as Adelaide and Perth for example. In either scenario, this hotel would appear well placed logistically for either setup.. the less movement of players in the wider community the better.

This is going to turn out very nice.
Much better up close and would be even better on a less gloomy day. The brass trim over the bronze looks quality up close. Can't wait for more of the protective film to be removed.

From Sunday 21/6
Some panels have dents in them. Wonder whether they can be sucked or whether they have to replace them.

I had a walk over today and took a photo of the Riverbank entry which looks quite different to the new sections. The jury is still out on this one for me.rev wrote:Don't worry they'll soon fade like the Riverbank entry

Seems there is still a lot of façade work to go on, but looking at the images on the Adelaide Oval Hotel website compared to these most recent photos there has definitely still been a simplification of the design, with smaller more regular windows.
