Not sure why it's been hoarded up for so long, but within the last fortnight a sign has gone up at the site advising of a planned 5G upgrade.

I remember my old man telling me that the couple of times he worked in that building, he noticed that they piped in ambient noise (conversations and street noise) throughout the building because it is so silent.

The fountain outside Adelaide Arcade is back. I wonder if it’ll still splash all over the mall?

Doesn't look like they've changed the width or depth or the surrounding pond, so splash overs probably to continue.

It’s still as bad as ever. The wet floor signs around the fountain will be back soon I’m sure.SRW wrote:Doesn't look like they've changed the width or depth or the surrounding pond, so splash overs probably to continue.

Changing of the guard is underway. Anyone know who is taking naming rights for the old girl?

Fair sure Westpac are still the anchor tenant, so might be a new Westpac sign? The current one has been in a very tired state of late…

They seem to have got the pressure all wrong.

Nope they have moved out into BankSA building. They were looking for new naming rights in October and apparently had lots of interest.Patrick_27 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 1:31 pmFair sure Westpac are still the anchor tenant, so might be a new Westpac sign? That explains the recent dual naming of the BankSA building…Ben wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 2:16 pmNope they have moved out into BankSA building. Found this on ICAM (one of the co-owners of the building) website from an article posted by The Advertiser two months ago:
“Westpac staff have relocated to the headquarters of subsidiary BankSA, also on King William Street, as the bank considers a potential move.
It’s currently on the lookout for up to 7000sq m of office space in the CBD, in a building ready for occupancy in 2025.”
Based on the sq m requirements and timeline, looks as though the Trinity development just found itself a major tenant - even if it is out of what some might consider to be the core business district. I can’t think of anything else going up with that kind of space available, unless they lease into the refitted Telstra or Comm Bank buildings.
The same article mentions the naming rights could go to a new anchor tenant or existing, of the existing tenants I’d say Knight Frank, Emirates, or AECOM would be the front runners to take the naming rights; as remainder are smalltime enterprise or state/federal government departments.

The NAB building is also being refit as they relocate to Southern Cross redevelopment.Patrick_27 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 3:53 pmunless they lease into the refitted Telstra or Comm Bank buildings.

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development
Whenever I fly home to Adelaide, I book a window seat on the port side of the aircraft if at all possible, so I can see that brilliant view of the CBD if the plane flies over North Adelaide. It's surely one of the great airport approach views in Australia - as picturesque as city views come. I love to see how the view has changed from the last time I flew in.
Today I noticed for the first time that the Westpac logos are being taken off Westpac House. I hope whoever's logo gets put on there looks good. It's not the tallest in Adelaide anymore, but it is a landmark and I'm glad to see those badly faded logos go. There's nothing wrong with Westpac, but there is something wrong with allowing a landmark building to have logos that look like a sun-bleached clothespeg.
