I believe Jacobs also had the smallgoods factory at Woodside, which now houses Melbas Chocolates and a few other small artisan businesses.

Jacobs are a global engineering consultant. I understand they will be leading the design.

I guess they won't be using the tunnel to mold the world's biggest mettwurst then ...

There's an idea of how they'll be involved with this project.

There have been some significant updates to the overall Project Map. Here's my summary:
- Inclusion of shared use paths (these really should be separated paths given the budget).
- Increased number of shared use bridges, especially in the south.
- Some changes to new at-grade intersection designs and layouts.
- More defined siting of cut and cover sections.
- The scale of the elevated section east of Brickworks seems to be reduced.
- Richmond Road east of South Road looks like it may only be partially widened, which contradicts past announcements. Perhaps the map doesn't depict the full upgrade there.

So looks like the northern tunnel portal has been pushed further south..wasn't it going to be north of the intersection originally next to the brickworks?

Interesting that there isn't a connection between the Mike Turtur Bikeway along the Glenelg Tram and the new shared use paths

Cyclists don't need connections, it's well known that they can teleport on and off the path.SouthAussie94 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2024 11:14 pmInteresting that there isn't a connection between the Mike Turtur Bikeway along the Glenelg Tram and the new shared use paths

The website has had a full overhaul, and a much more detailed project map is now available here: https://www.t2d.sa.gov.au/project-map

Have I missed something? Wasn't the West Thebarton Hotel supposed to be retained?

Who are they expecting to use these skinny green spaces alongside a motorway?

I briefly visited the T2D stall at Castle Plaza yesterday and asked about a connection with Cross Road. There is no provision for a connection, it seems, but I did get the two staff there to agree that this is a higher-level question and they may not be privy to this.

Nope, this demolition was known at least a few months ago.Llessur2002 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 9:58 amHave I missed something? Wasn't the West Thebarton Hotel supposed to be retained?

If the rest of the corridor is any indication, no-one. At the sections near Port Road they don't even bother to put the footpath going under the trees, and have it right exposed along the road.
