Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
Update from Revelop, who are 'currently/part-time' doing the City cross renovation..
* Centre toilets well under way and will be completed by May 22nd (was end of March)
* Mall tiling has commenced the run down to Rundle Mall and will then complete the Gawler entrance. Tiling on schedule for completion at the end of May.
* KFC have commenced their shop fit out works today and will be reopen 16th June.
* Beef Noodles commence their works shortly with a similar fit out period as KFC.
* External Façade works will commence once the internals are complete
I believe that renovations started end of 2022?

I've noticed the convenience store influx on Rundle Street, how many convenience stores does one street need?

I'd be asking how many of them are selling untaxed ciggiesPatrick_27 wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 1:08 pmI've noticed the convenience store influx on Rundle Street, how many convenience stores does one street need?

I worked in the East End for 15 years (up until 15 months ago), and the number of times I went to a Rundle St convenience store is about the same as the times I went to that weird bead shop that seemed to outlive every other business.
Surely it’s only about the nighttime trade because Foodland on Pulteney st must be completely eating their daytime business.

The mosaic tiling looks terrible. Should've kept to nice clean straight lines.

It's giving toilet block but glad the hoarding is finally down.
Will be interesting to see what's planned for the James Place upgrade. Hopefully ithe investment encourages more food venues and small bars to activate after hours.

Hope so. There are still heaps of vacant shops behind the new 60 KWS building

And inside there too. Kings Lane always feels so dark. One unit in there today didn’t have any hoardings up so not sure if that will get a retail or hospitality unit soon. People seem to smoke in the lane that it looks out onto though.
