Great work Crawf; accumulating all these projects onto one thread makes you really aware of all the development in regional SA. It is a great change from a few years ago when there was basically no development at all.

Sorry guys about not updating this thread, been pretty busy. I have spent tonight updating and added new projects and towns, Plus i have split up some regions as there is so many projects in country SA.

I went away for a weekend to Marion Bay and decided to drop in on my Grandfather on the way back. As he lives in Wallaroo, I thought that I would take the opportunity to take some snaps of Wallaroo's new skyscraper . Didn't know that it had come this far. Ground floor of apartment building is well underway along with the building next door (very interesting architecturally especially for Wallaroo). Anyway, I thought I would add some pics from today:

Kangaroo Island's Southern Ocean Lodge is due to open early 2008, work has already started and the 'staff village' is complete already. It will be SA's first 6 star hotel and Australia's second after the Gold Coasts Palazzo Versace. the construction as reached HALF WAY MARK and is on target to open March 1 2008. the lodge will target North American and Northern European Tourists as well as the luxury market in Australia. international visitor make up 39% of tourists, while during winter it is over half. this project will make way for simmilar style accomodation. will have 21 guest suits when complete. rates for the 12 million dollar lodge will be starting at 900 dollars a night.

Though it will be know as a 6 star venue, there is debate over the use of the term, as australia's rating system extends only to 5 star

There is a proposed supermarket an futher developement of the Stirling Hotel. I dunno if you have already covered that. Alot of Marinas being built around the place, the Vincent one is great.
