Forum updated.
Hiya guys,
Last night, I installed/upgraded our phpbb forum. I got a little paranoid from all the website forums that were being hacked lately and thought it's probably a good idea to do an update now.
Along with this there's a new visual theme, i call it howieportal .. couldn't think of anything original. The new logo has been incorporated into it also.
Let me know if there's any bugs, or comments regarding the new forum.
Cheers
Howie

True ATD.
However, if we're to be posting information and renders about projects still in the planning phase - I think it would be nice to know who is lurking on these forums.
I'm happy to sacrifice more membership and growth for the freedom of regular members to post what they want without knowing it's going to be viewed by every tom dick and harry.
Still i'm open to suggestions if you guys can think of an alternative model for our forums.

Fair enough Howie. I would say the site itself would be enough to at least get people to register. Would it be possible to allow guests to see the forums, just not read the threads? There would be a lot of people who wouldn't bother going though the work of registering unless they had a bit of an idea of what the forum is like.
That's what I was thinking also... but the site itself is probably enough to get people to register. each time an update goes up, i have it linked back to the relevant thread on the forum... so if they really are interested in learning more then they should register.AtD wrote:Fair enough Howie. As for being able to see the forums but unable to see the threads, at the moment the forum doesn't allow for that facility ... very unfortunate. But i'll see if there's anything i can come up with.
BTW, peter... you're still more than welcome to post on S-A. As I mentioned you've done a terrific job in the past... and i'm not holding anything against you.
