This project in its current form may have been cancelled. It appears that Bendigo and Adelaide Bank have instead decided to seek office accomodation somewhere else.
Well that is the interpretation I make from the following statement from the bank:
A new office in Adelaide
Bendigo and Adelaide Bank is currently seeking to lease new premises in Adelaide to house all Adelaide-based head office employees.
The new, five star Greenstar office in Adelaide will provide Adelaide-based staff with a high quality workplace and also reaffirm the bank’s commitment to South Australia.
The bank will relocate from its current Pirie Street address upon successful completion of the new project.

I will be glad if it has been cancelled, I like the current Adelaide Bank Building.

The message I get from that notice is that they're ready to demolish the existing building in preperation for building the new one, and need an office to house their employees in the interim.
cheers,
Rhino

I agree with rhino, however the wording is ambiguous.
The fact that it says 'new project' indicates that the development is going ahead.
Where did this announcement come from ?

Funny I came to post about them moving and it's already been done. But from all the different addresses they are moving to, i would say they are getting ready for demolition.
Here is one from yesterday

Lodgement Date: 30/06/2010
Location: Bendigo Bank, Level 2 5 Leigh Street, ADELAIDE SA 5000

An article in today's Advertiser (Page 27, Business Monthly) clarifies the situation.
This building appears to have been cancelled but the bank is looking for an alternative NEW building option - the article mentions the Harris Scarfe redevelopment, Wakefield St Kambitsis development and Franklin St as options.
It seems the bank wants to move building as it will be quicker and avoid them taking the cost/risk of building in their own name.
EDIT: To say I think this is a preferable outcome, particularly if it gets the Rundle Place on Harris Scarfe development up and at full scale.

This is great news. I never understood how they expected to keep operating at Pirie Street and construct their new office at the same time? Plus the proposal was nothing special.
It would be great if they choose to move to the Harris Scarfe development, nice to see some more glass at the northern CBD skyline. Either that or Franklin Street. The Wakefield Street office is another 'yawn' low rise proposal. Adelaide deserves better.

I agree, HS would be amazing and our tallest in over 20 years!
I believe the Wakefield one will be built regardless of pre commitment and i don't belive there is enough office space there unless they are talking about the Church office building, but that is currently facing many hurdles and not even approved yet.

I must admit I was looking forward to more construction on Hindmarsh Square, but if this secures HS (maybe adds a couple of floors...!?!?) then it will definately be worthwhile.
I just wish that HS could top the Westpac building for a new tallest, that would be absolutely amazing (I know I'm dreaming....)

What's the tallest tower of the lot, it's not labeled, between towers 4 and 7. Looks about 100m tall.
Edit: it is tower 4. Eta of this?

It would be a massive waste is the CCT4 site was wasted on a 17 level box. (where is the wank emoticon?)

The tall tower in the middle is B4. It's just got another part that isn't as tall.
