I did once see an 18 story building being constructed on the Gold coast using a relatively small ( 50 tonne ) mobile crane on a built up mound of dirt.

A mobile crane installed some precast panels for the ground floor today, 26 Aug 16.

A mobile crane has begun erecting steel work for the first 2 levels last week.

I'll add this one I took on Friday. It's a little hard to see in this picture, but it's visible from the steel work and also in the renders that the building curves slightly on the southern face, which I think is a nice touch. Also looking forward to the restoration of the old house, but I imagine that will probably be happening last?

Here is a picture from last week showing the curved steel on the side facing south (towards the parklands ) and an updated picture from today when precast window panels were being lifted into place with a different mobile crane.

An update as at 3 Oct 2016 - precast cast panels have been installed on all 4 sides for levels 1 & 2 .

Steel work now taking place on third floor above ground.

Level 3 is now complete and steel work is starting on level 4 .Picture Sunday 30 Oct 2016.

As At Saturday 3 Dec 2016 , steelwork is complete for level 6.

This one has had some amendments and the height is now 51m.
