This will never happen. It wouldn't get the Australia-wide nor international visitation numbers required to make it viable.
Not according to the governments predictions, or they wouldn't have raised it yesterday
They don't even have airlines willing to fly directly into Adelaide except for one or two. International visitation numbers to South Australia are significantly lower than the East Coast for a number of reasons.

What predictions? Can you quote the article you're reading? The only thing I've seen suggests that some economic advisors threw it out there as part of big ideas thinking.

"The Disneyland concept was generated as a “thought bubble” during talks by the now-defunct Economic Development Board (EDB), under former Labor premier Jay Weatherill’s government.

But the plot did not thicken and the idea remained a Mickey Mouse scheme, with no site considered and no approach made to the Walt Disney Company in a bid to secure a licence."

"The former economic adviser said the scheme remained “nothing beyond a thought bubble”."

What part is the interesting part that this isn't more than a thought bubble?

Literally nothing in that short audio piece disputes it being more than a thought bubble.

Definitely feel that there could be a space for a smaller permanent amusement park with rides around Adelaide, but a Disney scale experience is a magnitude or more too large to add up here.

If we can't get a real Disneyland, how about a Dismaland?

Because complete impossible fantasy helps no-one. It's not being negative, it's just facts that the billions of dollars of investment required could never hope to make a return.
