They have a tenant now... I forget which one. That end of the Plaza is starting to feel a little dead- the AFL store and Howard's storage world are now both closed, it's leaving a huuuuge gap with no activity.

The layout of TTP is actually shockingly bad, this section in particular. It is such a long walk from everything else and doesn't connect or flow to anything but the interchange. However on this point it is an isolated end connecting to an isolated end of the interchange. Most interchange traffic seems to walk across the carpark and in the billy baxters/ harris scarfe entrance.

Interestingly the section of collonades that connects through to nourlunga interchange is surprisingly dead. I must admit to not understanding why this is so.

One side of Tea Tree Plus has been painted brown. I think that the 'Tea Tree Plus' name had been around for too long!
Can anyone make a photo tribute if they have pics of it during it's early years?

the reason for the loss of tenants is due to a rent increase by westfield management and tenants not willing to pay.

The offical loss list that i am aware of is:

AFL Shop -turning into a telstra shop
Telstra Kiosk - Above reason
Howards Storage
Fellas down stairs

Remember 'Rowe & Jarmen'? All of them were re-branded into A-Mart All-Sports in 2006.

Ingle Farm shopping centre had 1 Bi-Lo and then, 2 Coles'?! Strange!
One of them should be Woolworths...

There's no way in hell Westfarmers would willingly turn over a site to Woolworths. They probably lease both sites for that very reason.

You better believe it. Preventing WW from getting a site is the reason the white elephant Coles Prospect exists.

Do you mean that the other way around? There are currently two WW at Prospect on opposite sides of Main North Road.

I'm referring to the Coles on Prospect Road, but yes, that's also a good example of the ongoing turf war.

I agree, but with a bit of decent design work it could (and hopefully will when the extension finally happens) be made much better by simply connecting the entry nearest Kmart to the Big W entry and to Tea Tree Plus via a new mall. The Kmart entry and the Big W entry are actually very close to each other and I regularly use that section of carpark as a shortcut rather than walk through the mall if I'm going from one end of the centre to the other (as I often do to compare Kmart and Big W prices on the same item).

Are there plans or renderings for the upgrade yet?

I get the impression that Westfield design and construction are focusing just about all their resources on the development of Westfield Sydney at the moment. A quick look around the Westfield site shows little else going on.

The Sydney project is massive and complex though so it's understandable.
