Great news! This tower and Central Market will transform this part of the city. I think the first of many new towers in this area over the next decade.

Also forgetting the new 98m tower on Franklin Street is also under construction. Big changes ahead for a small part of the city.

Also Renewal SA's project, Tapangka at the old bus depot on Franklin St, and the mixed use development at the former AusPost site on Grote St which applied for planning approval recently.

Exciting few years ahead for this part of the CBD. Hopefully the planned Travelodge Hotel in nearby Bentham St gets up too.

As I’ve said previously, if a western tram loop connecting RAH with Victoria Square (only 2-2.5km long) came to fruition, this part of town would go absolutely nuts with apartment and hotel towers.

Lots of activity the last couple of days with piles being excavated and poured.
This one is firing along quite rapidly now!

Construction of a 37-storey apartment tower on the former La Boheme bar site in the CBD has commenced.

The $200 million project, known as Victoria Tower Adelaide, will feature 285 apartments and eight levels of commercial office space.

Six penthouses will occupy the tower’s top two levels, including two which will offer more than 600sq m of living space.

At 122 metres, the building will become the city’s fourth tallest building, behind the Crowne Plaza and Realm Adelaide towers in the east end, and the recently renamed RAA Place building on King William St.

Developer Auta Group’s James Guo said about 60 per cent of the apartments had already been sold in the building, while local businesses had been secured to occupy most of the commercial office space.

“This development offers an inner-city lifestyle that would be exceptionally difficult to replicate anywhere else in the world,” he said.

“Victoria Tower Adelaide adds great value to our reputation as one the world’s great small, and exceptionally liveable, cities.”

The development will also include a gym, meeting rooms and a multi-function communal area with outdoor barbecue area. A cafe and florist will operate from the ground floor.

Local building company Synergy Construct is overseeing construction, which is expected to be completed in June 2025.

Synergy Construct operations director Craig Weaver said construction of the “landmark tower” would generate employment for hundreds of construction workers.

“Victoria Tower will be the largest in our build portfolio to date, and we look forward to collaborating with Auta Group and their consultant team to deliver a high-quality building to be enjoyed by tenants, visitors and residents for many years to come.”

Been said many times, but this and the Central Market redevelopment will be an amazing change to the experience of driving into the city from the airport.

Some interesting perspective on that second render!

I just hope that the building has good sound proofing. The Metro next door is a great live music venue.
