I agree. It's hard not to be cynical when the government not only abolished the IDC but has apparently forgotten about the IDC's very similar 5000+ initiative.Nathan wrote:As I saw someone else mention — they scrapped the panel of experts that was the Integrated Design Commission, and now they want to set up a panel of laymen in it's place.Wayno wrote:Unsure what to make of this - could be like asking the residents how to improve the asylum.

Re: Beer Garden
Exactly! Your had crowdsourced ideas that were then filtered/reviewed by experts, who then used them along with their own ideas and experience to inform direction. Definitely superior to this new concept.SRW wrote:I agree. Perhaps this conversation should be moved elsewhere, it has much relevance to development Adelaide, so shouldn't be buried in the off-topic thread.

Thought it might of interest of some on here. Back in Feb/March my wife and I headed over to the US (New York, Portland & San Francisco) and I've finally got around to finishing off my processing of my shots.
The full gallery is here, but I'll stick a few samples below.

Good one Steven. That's what's driving up the high cost of living. Yeah.Opposition Leader Steven Marshall's advice for Mr Weatherill wrote: "(Scrap) Labor's toxic car park tax which will drive up already high cost-of-living pressures for South Australians".

I'm not supportive of the tax, but it is $2. Two measiy dollars. $10 in a working week. That doesn't even buy you lunch these days. It's pretty insignificant.

I don't agree with it because it is stupid, plain and simple.[Shuz] wrote:I'm not supportive of the tax, but it is $2. Two measiy dollars. $10 in a working week. That doesn't even buy you lunch these days. It's pretty insignificant.

Shuz, you're not looking hard enough if you can't get a filling lunch for under $10...![Shuz] wrote:$10 in a working week. That doesn't even buy you lunch these days.
Also, BTW, Nathan - awesome photos.

the policy is a short sighted, narrow minded, ill directed policy which avoids actually doing anything about congestion and simply raises the parking fee for people - and also acts as a disincentive for people to come to the city - given how poor PT is.
So in short, it is a stupid policy
