It is such a long walk from everything else and doesn't connect or flow to anything but the interchange. However on this point it is an isolated end connecting to an isolated end of the interchange. Most interchange traffic seems to walk across the carpark and in the billy baxters/ harris scarfe entrance.
Interestingly the section of collonades that connects through to nourlunga interchange is surprisingly dead. I must admit to not understanding why this is so.
I agree, but with a bit of decent design work it could (and hopefully will when the extension finally happens) be made much better by simply connecting the entry nearest Kmart to the Big W entry and to Tea Tree Plus via a new mall. The Kmart entry and the Big W entry are actually very close to each other and I regularly use that section of carpark as a shortcut rather than walk through the mall if I'm going from one end of the centre to the other (as I often do to compare Kmart and Big W prices on the same item).
Wouldn't that cut across a road that leads to a loading dock?

Yes, but Westfield have found ways around similar problems at other centres in the past (either relocating the loading dock or building an above or below ground access to it).

Caffe Bongiourno may be relocating soon, which will allow the start of the upgrade to take place.
There may be a banner saying "Our lease expiring at the end of April as we move to Golden Grove!"

My estimations according to the TTP upgrade:
1. The Woolworths & Big W should need rennovations as well as their logos updated!
2. Dick Smith (next to Maccas) is likely to relocate to Tea Tree Plaza.
3. TTP should have new 'anti-stray' shopping trolleys with wheels that lock when they go out of bounds, by means of an underground detector cable. I remember seeing this concept on Today-Tonight!

They were using this at a Teso in London where I lived. It was right near the docks and the Thames so little turds would take the trollies and hoy them into the water. After they installed this into the carpark it stopped this practice in its tracks as the little turds were to lazy to carry a trolley 50m to throw them into the nearest body of water. Gotta love the phycology of teens.

There's already a Dick Smith outlet in TTP (Tandy on the lower level).

A Dick Smith at TTP would bigger better than Tandy because it sells more stuff (e.g. videogames, TVs, etc). Tandy at Golden Grove Village is now a temporary clothing shop called Skunk Fasion.

Found a pic of the defunct AFL Store!
Like that giant football penetrating the ceiling!
Had a 10 year lease as it was situated in the Tea Tree Plaza extension which was completed in 1998.

MORE high-end fashion shops would be a key ingredient of a $200 million expansion of Tea Tree Plaza, with work possibly starting by the end of the year, Gully Council CEO Di Rogowski says.
Officials from Plaza owners Westfield indicated work could start by Christmas during talks with the council earlier this year, Ms Rogowski told the aifLeader Messenger aif last week.
She said Westfield told the council it was looking to address the dearth of designer fashion outlets in the northeast to stop wealthier residents shopping elsewhere.
“People think Tea Tree Gully is a poorer area than it is,” Ms Rogowski said.
“Women are going shopping in Norwood and North Adelaide instead.
“(The Plaza) is probably the oldest centre they (Westfield) have got and they’re looking to rev it up.”
In March, Westfield flagged it would spend $300 million on building assets in Australia over the next year, but the company has been tight-lipped about its plans for the Plaza.
The development, which would add 95 shops and a multi-storey carpark, was first approved by the council in 2006 but stalled due to the global financial crisis.
At the time, Westfield said the expansion would broaden the range of shops and include “more fashion”.
The company has never committed to a completion date for the project, which would create an estimated 1350 jobs during construction and 650 ongoing jobs at the centre.
Westfield corporate affairs manager Julia Clarke did not respond before deadline.

$300m nationally for an empire the size of Westfield is bugger all.

That article is very vague. I wouldn't take any notice of it.

I really can't see why addressing the 'the dearth of designer fashion outlets' is any business at all of local government?
