The piling rigs have gone - and some pretty substantial foundation work underway.
With no basement it should move quickly - I assume they will dig out 2-meter or so deep platform fixed on top of the piers?
Hopefully by Christmas there will be out of the ground and a crane on site.

The Vic Tower annd central market are very different. While the Multiplex project took the weekend off (with not a lot happening during the week) part of the VT slab was poured. 10 weeks after taking over the site.

From today. Not sure what the vertical structure is - too small and no foundation to be the lifts.
Maybe the excavation near Grote Street is where the lift core will be.

I'd say you're correct. The first shot looks like a core pad, the second could be the beginning of a stairwell/service core. Time will tell!
