It's TTG council. Everything is their business, apparently. They weigh in on everything, from stuff they should care about (getting zoning changed) to things like the funding of Modbury Hospital. I think I had to fill out a form the last time I got a different pattern bog paper than I usually do.

It was Westfield that was quoted as saying they wanted to address the dearth of fashion shops, not the council.

Unfortunately I am not convinced the project will start this year. Maybe it will and it's certainly about time, but the Messenger often prints stories like this up to 3 years before a major shopping centre development actually starts!

$300 million could easily be spent just at the Sydney redevelopment without starting any new projects.

Having said that, I hope TTP does go ahead soon.

Looks like we may start seeing some action on this development early in the new year...

I know of at least 3 tennants in both Tea Tree Plaza & Tea Tree Plus that will be relocating in the next few months to make way for stage 1 of the extention. I have been told that stage 1 involves joining the Northen end of Tea Tree Plus to the Woolworths end of Tea Tree Plaza.

Southern end maybe?

I assumed it was the Southern end too, but one of the tennants i spoke to said that his store (Gauchi) and Cheap As Chips are relocating and they are both up the Northern End. At this stage his store will be relocated to either the old Medibank or Telstra Store tennancies by Christmas.

Does this mean that Cheap As Chips will become something else (e.g. another supermarket, department store, etc)

Cheap as Chips hasn't been there very long. Can't be much more than a year surely? Seems odd if they're moving out already.

That's their business model. Cheap rent and cheap fit outs with frequent relocations.

I think that Cheap As Chips will be relocating to Modbury Triangle (where Barbecues Galore was).

In Westfields Half Yearly report today the only SA centre earmarked for development is Marion.

Anyone know what target is doing? Is this in some way related to the redevelopment?
It kind of looks like they are either redoing the whole register area or putting shops in front of Target which would be weird.
The closed off area extends from the front of the store all the way down to the old garden section with the external door.

They have removed the glass from the womens clothing area to make that the new entrance.

It may just be their compulsory shop refit that they have to do for Westfield.

Isn't that back where they used to be then before they moved into TTP? (They were known as "C.A.C. Variety in Modbury Triangle previously but it was Cheap as Chips").

They're refurbishing it to the new style Target fitout, similar to what they've recently done at Marion. I think it looks quite nice there.

Actually, Barbecues Galore was next to Cash Converters, before it moved to Gepps X HQ.
