Although I still do not have any renders, I have been told that AZUCAR will feature public artwork on the ground floor, and the external walling will be zincalume.

The shape of the building is based upon a 'two boxes' philosophy, which (use your imagination) means that the building will essentially look like two boxes, one on top of the other. The first box will be larger and rise to a height of 18.5m, whereas the second box, sitting on top of the first box, will be smaller in shape and rise to a height of 28.9m. The second box is designed to break the massing of the building whilst creating interest in the skyline.

The building is designed for students and most apartments wil be studio style, and the building will provide adequate bicycle parking for its inhabitants.

Also at its meeting next week, the ACC will grant planning approval for the following:

South Park Motor Inn (1-10 South Terrace.)

7 level building addition to the existing structure comprising 21 new guest rooms, penthouse apartment, conference centre, gym, and 2 level car-park facillity ancillary to the hotel. The existing building built in the early 1980s, will also undergo an internal makeover, with major alterations to the ground floor and to the 5th floor. there will also be an extension to the foyer area.

So, we're talking 7 levels built on top of the current building?

No, next to the current building, at the rear, where there is currently a car-park.

Apparently they're behind schedule. They were suppose to have the laneway open before christmas and the apartments ready to settle at the start of the uni semester. I think they're ramping things up at the moment, there were more cherry pickers on site than usual this new year.

Just been to Adelaide a few days. Diud much research - found a proposal for 7 floor extension to the Park Motor inn on Sth Tece - 21 rooms +penthouse, conference centre and gym. Via Collaroy Developments. Still subject to ACC consideration.

Again. sorry I have no renders - will have to leave it up to you guys. Not enough time to do this research.
