And no one ever referred to Hollywood Plaza as Centro Hollywood (which has reverted back to Hollywood Plaza now that Centro off-loaded it)

Well Westfield Marion has always been Westfield Marion to me. Maybe I'm unusual in that regard.

Westfield's always had much stronger branding than Centro. Even so, I (and I think most people) usually refer to it as Marion Shopping Centre.

And all despite the fact the shopping centre isn't even in Marion.

The old centre court has been set up as a sort of food court as I commented earlier that it should be. However for some reason they've opened a new cafe and a new indian restaurant in other parts of the centre, but put non-food shops (spec-savers and one other I can't recall) in the food court!

Also they really should have taken the opportunity whilst McDonalds and KFC were refurbishing to make them move their counters so that they face properly into the food court.

Both pretty obvious things that have somehow been overlooked. But at least there is some sort of food court type arrangement now.

The Centro signage on the tower has now been replaced with the new Arndale Central sign - not sure if this one illuminates though.

The Greater Union sign has also been repaired so that it now fully illuminates again.

The signs they've put up at the moment are just banners. Presumably they will be replaced with illuminated signs once they are made.

Not sure why they didn't just wait until the new signs were ready, but probably because they wanted to hold the official launch this week so needed something in place for the time being. That said, they've had long enough to get the signs made I would have thought, especially as the extension has taken so much longer than planned.

Still though, it's mostly looking quite good overall now compared to how it did.

I was wrong about the signs being only temporary it seems. Well, at least partially wrong. The main sign on the tower has had permanent lettering added on top of the banner lettering. Not sure if it will be lit internally or maybe they'll just install overhead lights.
